Loving God,

We recognise that through Jesus we are set free and invited into the presence of God. Help us to leave behind the unquestioning faith which veils over our face and prevents us from seeing the true glory of God in Christ.

Holy God,
Have mercy on us.

Because of our sin, your glory fades from our lives.
Help us turn towards your holiness

Holy God,
Have mercy on us.

We have at times rejected your covenant relationship and walked in sin.

But you created us, and you redeem humanity.

Holy God,
Have mercy on us.

Transform us and change us by the power of your Spirit.

We often give up when we should be preparing patiently for your deliverance.
Holy God,
Have mercy on us.

Teach us to live in the freedom of your redemptive love.

We confess that we judge when we should show compassion.
Holy God,
Have mercy on us.

We confess for we have fallen short on our Christian mandate – to be boastful of you.

Grant us the power to share your word with everyone including all rejected by society.

Holy God,

Have mercy on us.

Know that your sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ. Our Saviour, and rejoice in his goodness and grace.
