God of all, we pray for those who have lost their loved ones and wish they could turn the clock back to see them again. We pray for those who long to spend some time with their loved ones but feel powerless because circumstances are beyond their control. We remember those who are in a hospital or suffering from any illness. And their friends and family, doctors or nurses who comfort them. Grant them the strength and the assurance that in your arms they can always find comfort.
God of all, we pray for those who stand falsely accused and are facing the persecution system for a crime they did not commit. For those who like Christ, face betrayal by the people most closes to them or people they thought they could trust. Comfort them with the assurance that although it may seem like everyone have disserted them in their hours of need, in you, they can find a refuge if they look to the cross.
God of all, we pray for our church and those who occupy a leadership position. Especially those who recognise the need for a change. Those who recognise a need for a radical revival. Those who recognise a need to unite for the sake of the gospel. Those who recognise a need to take some risk even though such actions may come at a cost. Pour your spirit in their heart to bring their desires, actions and decisions in line with your will.
God of all, we pray for those who are quick-tempered and create division when they should be helping to forge unity for the sake of the gospel. For those who have spoken when they should have listened. Also for those who put their lives on the line for others, even though at times it comes at a cost. Give them your wisdom to know when is best to exercise restraint when faced with the temptation to respond in haste and bless their actions with the spirit of love, gentleness, diplomacy and courage. Help us to recognise that we all make mistakes along our Christian journey, but as we take on Jesus Christ and rise to walk in the newness of life in Jesus we have an assurance of His salvation.
God of all, we pray for a church where love can dwell and unity means everything, And prophets speak, and words are powerful and true. Where the cross shall stand as a witness and all our children’s can testify to having a heartwarming experience. A Church where all young people who are in need of you can testify to your presence without the need to go elsewhere to deepen their faith. A church where old peoples experience and wisdom are brought to bear to nurture the youth. Help us to use our faith to reshape our church as you desire. Here as one, we claim the faith of Jesus.
May what we ask in your son Jesus Christ be done according to His word which says, ask and you will receive, knock and the door will be open to you. Amen.
