A PRAYER OF CONFESSION – Isaiah 65: 1-9 and Galatians 3:23-29

God of Love, we recognise our new position in Christ for we are no longer under the Law as the Law of Christ can set us free by grace through faith. Help us leave behind any misappropriation or misunderstanding of the Law and seek your salvation by grace through faith.

Holy God, Have mercy on us.

We put our properties and earthly things above our relationship with God and our community. We come, full of regrets for the neglect we have shown, teach us how to love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We pursued our own imagination and created distinctions. Give us the spirit of humility, selflessness and togetherness

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We did not seek you and sought after our own interest, but you found us in the mist of our revolt. We come, full of sadness for the times we did not listen.

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We provoked you to your face with our sinful ways, but you still gave us your son. Teach us to walk in righteousness.

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We feared your healings and miracles when we should draw closer. Transform and restore us and change us by the power of your Spirit to rebuke fear.

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We rejected you even when you showed us love and mercy through your healing. We ask for forgiveness, full of sorrow for the wrongs we have done.

Holy God, Have mercy on us

We did not call your name, but you’re Spirit is still with us. Help us turn towards your holiness.

Holy God, Have mercy on us.

Know that your sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ. Our Saviour, and rejoice in his goodness and grace.

Amen. Thanks be to God.
